My 302 loader control (4-way hydro-valve) on a B7500 is starting to have a problem when lowering the bucket. No other operation has the problem.
When I push the stick up - nothing happens. Then I push hard, feel a click in the stick, then the bucket drops slowly. It'll happen sporatically, with out without a load.
I checked the fluid, and clean, clear, and full full full. In fact, it's about 1/8 inch above the line on the dipstick.
I thought it may be a sticky valve inside the controller, but the dealer said that no parts are serviceable inside, and that a total control valve replacement is typical.
At $610..... I need more options.
Any ideas?!

Your problem could be in the joystick linkage and not in the valve itself. There are quite a few linkage pieces that control the spools under the boot of the lontrol stck. Pull the boot and check the linkage. It is likely that the linkage is worn based on the description you gave of the problem. If you have the manual for the loader, check for the parts diagram. You can match up the worn linkage pieces and get part numbers. Relacing the linkage is pretty straight forward. Shouldn't cost you more than $30. Good Luck ....

The click you are feeling is the float function of the loader and normal. This setting is just beyond the lower position. You need to push it a little harder to get it there. ....

Find someone else to talk to at the dealership from the shop. That valve might just have a clip out of place. Can't say we've ever had one we needed to replace, just take apart and reassemble. ....
